Can music in the recovery room improve the outcome of the patients after heart surgery? The answer appears to be yes, especially if it's harp music. Heart rates calm down and become more regular, as do the patients. In addition, the nurses receive some of the calming benefit as they care for their patients.

    Depends on the music...I like classical and hard rock but I wouldnt want to hear either one in recovery. Maybe best to keep it quiet or offer headphones and let the patient select for themselves. Music is very personal choice. One man's recovery music could be another man's headache.
