Shin Splints: What a pain in the leg! »
Posted by: Pre23 1 year, 9 months agoOne of the most common nuisances for athletes, and especially runners, is having to deal with shin splints. Anyone who has experienced pain in the front part of their lower leg, possibly some swelling and/or other shin-area irritation has likely had the unfortunate (albeit very common) experience of shin splints.

April 22, 2008, 7:50 a.m.I see people running on sidewalks all the time. All the sports med and ortho/neuro docs I've worked with say not to run on sidewalks. The biomechanics of your feet are also important to preventing shin splints. So your paragraph on shoes is right on.
