Health & Fitness – A slew of products made in China ranging from children's jewelry to cake decorations were recalled on Thursday because they contain excessive amounts of lead.
I am doing my best to shop by the U.S. label. I can not trust China in any form with any product. I am worried at this point on what my children receive from everyone else. Halloween is coming up as well as Christmas. I think China has not seen much of a decline in profit to care. And where do we go. Nothing is made from the U.S. anymore.
...China is selling weapons to Iran and killing us along with our pets with posion. What in the world?!!
Sorry, Chinese labor is being exploited by multinational corporatists who are doing the dumping and it won't stop until you agree to submit to working 70 hr. weeks in isolation from your family for $35. The new slavery, keep em' in their own country so you don't have to feed house or pay medical bills- that country must not have those pesky labor laws, safety regs, or stupid environmental protection laws that stand in the way of fascism, er I mean corporate gluttony, er both.
Radio,
Greed is destroying this country. What China has done due to greed, neglect, or for whatever reason is terrorism. I didn't notice a code orange or a lockdown on Chinese goods, did you? Fact is these corporate creeps don't care about the average Joe. Time to put our money where our mouth is, and either stop buying junk or buy American, Japanese, European junk. At least they have labor laws.
How about not giving your family junk from China say How about giving them time cards say two hours to your wife to have her nails done or take the family out for an outing . China gives us poison they have no civil rights or equal rights seems to be that they are getting patted on the back doing and acting in ways we don't approve of. When will this crap stop.
Nobody mentions clothing??? If you shop for clothing today that is mostly made in China also, check the width of the sleeves, the length, buttons or whatever. Do you think the Chinese despise us and are shafting us with shoddy merchandise?? If its not made in China apparently we must do without or accept 4th rate products. What are Americans producing?? I think squat. The older generation is supporting with their retirements by paying for their deadbeat children and grandchildren to survive while again, we slide backwards while the five percent rich obtain more of the wealth. Remarkable and yes Bush is part of the problem along with our so called deranged moronic leaders.
Nelson, what are you talking about with "the older generation is supporting their retirements by paying for their deadbeat children and grandchildren". WHAT?
See it everyday, Children of the boomers being supported by the Boomers. What the hell are they producing? China is now the producer for that very reason and greed of our money grubbers in America which include Wall Street, Bankers and other despicable humans who take profit over the benefit of their own nation. The grandchildren really are not responsible, well some, but this new generation is more involved in drugs and buying on credit to the detriment of what they inherited.
Children of the boomers being supported by the Boomers. What the hell are they producing? >>>>
i don't know. I never met these people you're talking about. Where do you meet them? How do you know they're being 'supported' by their parents? How do you know they aren't 'procducing?' How many of these people do you 'know?' Do you investigate them to find out this information, or just ask them?
Jordan, are you living a hermits existence. If our manufacturing base has been shipped overseas for the cheap labor, are we producing as we were say 20 years ago? How many items at Walmart are from China, many!! It has never been this way so open your eyes just a wee bit. Now our service sector which includes Walmart and McDonald's like many others has grown but would you not agree these are not the goal one aspires too. Enough said, but try and buy something made with the U.S. logo, few and far between. By the way, the work ethic has changed in America. It's not about the labor you imput but about the ease of earning acquired wealth. Ask your local Banker, money comes easy when you contort the law.
What does this have to do with people being 'supported' by their parents? Are you saying people are in bad straights because there are no jobs? I am having a hard time understanding you.
I think what Nelson is saying is this generation and the one before it don't want to "work" for a living but want a job where they can make money doing as little as possible regardless of how much they damage society. Look around you Jordan and you will see countless fields where vast amounts of money are made for doing nothing or very little. Banks that one time payed interest on any money in your account not charge you for anything and every thing. Satalite companies give you the system but nail you every month for programming, same with cell phones. Build a house lately, first the land needs to be tested to see if it up to the soil code for a septic system, hell, even if there's a existing drive way most times you still have to apply for a permit to put one in and it all cost money. Remember in the 80, when the big thing was to buy companies and merge them only to close them then make your money in the stocks, people mean nothing now, money is the important thing.

We all damage society. This isn't one generation being better than another. And my children work very hard. I don't support them, & their work ethic is every bit is strong as mine was. Sweeping condemnations accomplish nothing more than taking oneself off the hook, IMO.
If the item has a made in China tag, don't buy! Then maybe the businesses that shifted their facilities there will either have to bring them back to the US or go out of business. Of course one of the reasons for being made in China is the cheap labor and another is the total lack of consumer regulations that we impose on companies doing business in the US. This will cost us more money but we don't have to worry about the safety of our children as much.
What the hell is wrong with people? Why are they still buying this garbage made in China?
Isn't it worth a couple of extra dollars to insure the safety of your children, and family in general? Just makes sense to me!
Exactly not2needy, America should be more protectionist by not buying crap from China while they expand their military and brunt us at every turn when it comes to foreign policy. Our leaders are obeying only the rich elite in America and middle class be damned. I'm sick of it also and would pay more for products produced in America but it's hard to find these products daily.
Bush must love our role and policies. It takes an idiot like him to think he's doing a fine job. He is a schmuck.

"The recall of roughly 665,000 items announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) includes about 38,000 Go Diego Go Animal Rescue Boats from Mattel Inc's Fisher-Price division."
"The boats were sold at retail stores nationwide from June through October, and the CPSC said surface paint contains excessive levels of lead."
"Also recalled were about 142,000 Halloween pails sold at Family Dollar Stores Inc from August through October. The CPSC said green paint on the pails contains amounts of lead that violate U.S. standards for lead paint."
"More than 20 million toys made in China were recalled worldwide over the past four months due to potentially dangerous levels of lead and hazards posed by small magnets that can be swallowed."
Havent they learned ANYTHING yet? Or does one of their OWN children have to die before they REALLY do something?
well then dont buy anything outa gum ball machines!!!
all that stuf is from china....too bad that used to be a fun thing to do with little kids...so magical!
Dudes, it used to be just little trinkets in "gun ball machines" and amusement parks and 99 cent stores. But the other day I went to buy a new tennis racket, and even the highest level and priced 'axes' were mostly "made in China", except for one or two (and the one Dunlop that I bought). Buyer beware, you gotta read the label ya know!
