Health insurer Humana Inc. posted a 57 percent surge in fourth-quarter earnings Monday from its growing government segment, a lower-than-expected income tax rate and a gain on the sale of a venture capital investment.
The Louisville-based company beat Wall Street projections for the three months ended Dec. 31 and also raised its profit outlook for 2008.

Their profits are up and who didn't get a test that they needed or a transplant or who has used up their max-lifetime benefits?
Meanwhile our government is planning on cutting medicare and medicaid benefits!
If these companies don't start taking care of the American workers, they might run out of customers.
Thanks engineer!

engineer:
These clowns think it is ok to continue to profit from human misery. One day they will learn a very important lesson.
Your money and all it gets you stays behind on earth when you die.
The things you did you answer for. One way or another.
I saw a disturbing news byte the other day on TV. This man woke up in a hotel room missing a kidney.
Now tell me when we start harvesting human body parts from people without their consent what are we?
You know it's the same type of deal. Some wealthy sick guy needs a kidney so they steal one.
Meanwhile the poor and middle class are denied treatment for the profits.
