Health & Fitness – Tiredness is also known as fatigue. It settles in the human body in a moment when its resources, physical or psychical, are overused and, accordingly, the human body reacts protecting itself by not responding in a prompt manner to various stimulus.
I developed CFS or myalgic encephalomyelitis after repeated infections of mononucleosis prior to 1984.
Learning to live and function with this illness has been quite challenging. I functioned for many years and had to find ways to work around it, to work smarter, and to work more efficiently to survive and support my family. Eventually I had a heart attack at age 49 and consequently became disabled.
Today I live each day and must take frequent periods of rest. I sleep for about a half hour several times throughout the day. Rarely does the sleep refresh me, but if I don't rest the consequences are most unpleasant.
This is not a well understood illness and it has, unfortunately, been lumped together with unrelated illnesses that only confuse most doctors in the U.S. I wrote an article about this illness on my personal website, if anyone would like to read it -- just send me a pm.
I don't have that problem, my mind keeps me going! ( I have had to fight being a workaholic.) Before my husband passed away, he was fatiqued due to inadequate oxygen level. He always said that I kept him from being depressed.
I know that it has to be really rough on anyone who suffers from chronic tiredness!
Good article, thanks george!
I would recommend seeking a nutritionist. Most doctors are not able to treat this problem. It may very well be caused by your diet. By taking blood, saliva and stool tests, a good nutritionist can help track down what's bothering you, it worked for me and my wife when I thought there was no solution, it truly helped turn my life around. Exercise should also be part of your lifestyle.
