I've worked nights most of my life . Insomnia has got nothing on me . I find OTC sleep meds work best . And a nice cup of warm tea steeped for 3 seconds so it almost looks like dirty water . Just knocks me out . TV just activates certain brain waves that could possibly keep you awake . Try some self relaxation therapy . By the time you think you are relaxed you are already asleep .

Hurr, I want to thank you for a story you submitted some time ago on snoring and its complications it can cause. I had the sleep test done and now am on a C-pap. I was told I quit breathing at least 50 times an hour. Thanks again you may have very well saved my life or at least extended it a bit.

The best remedy is not to try to insist, but....would rather be to stand up for a walk until the sleep comes naturally!
When I can't sleep, I get up and go in the living room and watch TV for a hour or so then, go back to the bedroom and back sleep.

I know it's probably not suggested, but, I like to turn on my tv in bedroom and set the timer. usually that does it for me.
