hmmmm may explain the all clear chest xrays.

If good pot grew in the US it would be legal. This is all about oppressing the Jamaican economy! Keeping another third world country down. I say in jest.

Putting any form of smoke into your lungs is harmful.

avatar
Reply

Better hold your breath for the rest of your life than.

avatar

I guess you better cancel that campfire this hunting season ,huh?

BTW-you are correct, any smoke taken directly into the lungs MAY be harmful to your health. That is the only thing the major studies were able to say about marijuana, yet some people like to stretch the truth, especially cops. This study, and many others prove that anyone who says marijuana causes cancer or is worse than cigarettes is a liar.

avatar
Reply

Actually the heat from the smoke is more harmfull than the smoke itself. Use a bong or some other water pipe.

avatar
Reply

Now we have vaporizers...takes the smoke right out of their sails.

avatar

No wonder nothing appeared in the major press. I mean, can't have something that flies in the face of the "official line", now can we ?

avatar

Or a cure that everyone can grow for themselves.

The 'stand' by politicians that marijuana is 'bad' for you is a hypocritical double-standard.

Alcohol and cigarettes are more detrimental to the human body than marijuana, but they are LEGAL.

I have a VERY cynical view about this continual "war on drugs" and why the government won't end it.

I believe that too many politicians are getting large contributions that consist of 'laundered' money that comes from the 'execs' in the drug cartels.

Think about it -- the distribution and sale of illegal drugs is a HUGE 'business' and it all occurs TAX FREE.

If all drugs were legal, the 'industry' would be taxed, and our government would NOT be spending billions on a 'war' that will NEVER be won.

It is all SO backwards ....

bubba2 - DITTO !!!

One other factor is the law enforcement infrastructure. Many jobs and budgets would be cut as well.

I guess they could all become hemp farmers and do a job that will actually benefit the country.

Sorta like how Obama admits to using coke and weed but isn't for legalization?

It's the main reason I can't vote for the guy (or Hillary and McCain)

Legalization and taxation would be REAL change.

avatar

When asked about her thoughts on Sen Dodd's proposal of decriminalization,Hillary laughed in disgust.McCain? I think he is still thinking about public hangings for a joint,he is certainly proud of his support for jailing terminally ill patients for using their legal medicine.

Obama has promised to end the prosecutions of those patients and is more likely to listen to reason than anyone since Carter.

Look Obama can say all he wants to say.

The Bottome Line is that it is Congress that has to be convinced. I do not care what person in both parties who want to be Prez, if they say something like this. They are pandering for a vote. They can not change something like this without, the approval of Congress.

We all know that there are benifiets to hemp and mj. But, Congress, will never and I mean NEVER, pass something like this. There is too much money at stake for them to lose. Period.

Jimmy Carter ordered the DEA to stop arresting citizens for simple possession with an executive order.

avatar
Reply

And seriously that went how well? During the times of Carter I can show arrests after arrests of people just using. David Crosby comes to mind. Want to talk about that.

I know where you are coming from mntnman. But seriously, there is no one in this gov't who is going to change this without a complete overhaul of getting all the bums out.

I swear that will be the only way. New faces, new idea's and most importantly new people who are not beholding to anyone with this intrest.

It is like the FDA not wanting to do true tests on fruits with seeds will help you get rid of cancer. Along with mj you can beat it. Since the death of my Grand-Mother I have been looking into the altrenitives. And I have found out that with fruits with seeds and mj, your chances of being a survivor is better than modern medicince. I have been looking into this for now 22 years.

I really do not believe any of the old guard and some of the new guard on this. The DEA is too powerfull.

Smoking a joint while driving at 60 mph usually stops the effects of old age too

avatar
Reply

Do you really think you could find a stoned person going over 60?Not using your turn signal while cutting somebody off at 60 can be a little dangerous too...but then stoners always use their turn signals (paranoia ya know).

avatar
Reply

60 mph is roughly a 100kmh and that's pretty standard for freeway drivin'. Countless doobies are bein' smoked at that speed.

avatar
Reply

Yes ,my dear but the speed limit is 75.

avatar
Reply

So what's another 10 - 20km ... half a doobie?

People over 75 shouldn't be speeding anyways.

Wow I'm going back to doing meth - the stonres here are a much too serious bunch

avatar

I was laughing when I responded to your comment...the only way to spot a stoned driver is to look for the only driver obeying the speed limit.

avatar
Reply

I don't recall that OUR car was even running.....except to go get milk and cookies !!!

OK maybe we were going 20 mph .

I have a tough time understanding the US opposition to lifting the laws against this plant. For most of the history of the country it was legal. The vast majority of studies show it much less harmful than tobacco or alcohol. There are many ailments that it helps in many cases. The laws need to be changed now. Wouldn't the savings help the current ecomony if nothing else?

The first bill in 25 years was introduced in congress last week to decriminalize adult possession of up to 3 1/2 ozs.

Here is a link to write your congressman and ask that he support it...

Already contacted mine and sent the link to many others. Ron Paul was one of the sponsors.

While decriminalization is all well and good. We know it wont get any further than being introduced. The problem with all this is that there are too many on both sides who wants this dead. And you know that is the truth.

The day I will believe anyone in this when they get rid of the program all together. Stop the commercials that talk about mj being oh so bad for you. No the only way this will change is to shut down the phone system and the email system like we did for the immigration issue last summer.

You want to wake up congress this is the only way. But then again all of them in the lobby will not want them to change their mind. Too much money is being made off the "War On Drugs". If they were really serious about the war, they would have closed the border down a long time ago.

Remember Paraquat??? This was to end all of the smokers of mj not getting it. Yeah it ended a few, in death that is. Seriously you want to trust what they say now?

I know where you're coming from too macR...it sounds like you've been paying attention to this issue almost as long as me,so when I say that about Obama,to me a candidate who is willing to listen to reason at all is a better choice than we have had since Carter.

Decrim does not go far enough for me,in plain english,it's just a friggen weed and it's none of the govts business what we do with our body.I guess it's kind of a compromise, the govt still gets it's money and saves alot on prosecution and the violator gets a small fine and no criminal record.

I dropped out of the fight for awhile but now with the net I can share alot of my info with lots of people, sure beats protesting Nacy Reagans convention all by myself.

BTW-Nixon did close the border down...it lasted about a week and stalled traffic for miles, they searched every vehicle until screaming businesses on both sides shut it down.

"In July 1977, Marley was found to have malignant melanoma in a soccer wound on his *toe*. Marley refused amputation, because of the Rastafari belief that the body must be "whole"

" Rasta no abide amputation. I don't allow a man to be dismantled. "

(From the biography Catch a Fire)

The cancer then metastasized to Marley's brain, lungs, liver, and stomach. After playing two shows at Madison Square Garden as part of his fall 1980 Uprising Tour, he collapsed while jogging in NYC's Central Park. The remainder of the tour was subsequently cancelled."
