I wish my Mom smoked pot. Christmas would be so much fun.

The reason for marijuana being banned is political -- not medical. Alcohol can be bought for consumption. Doctors can right prescriptions for Demarol and Valium. Marijuana is not as potent. IT"S ONLY POLITICAL!!!

Actually I think it's commercial too, in addition to political. We all know being hard on drugs is good for politicians. How about all those large contributions that Big Pharma makes to politicos? Until Big Pharma figures out a way to patent a plant, I'm not sure that marijuana will be legalized.

BTW-The reason we don't see more legitimate studies in the US is because the govt does it's own gutter science but is prohibiting anyone else from doing any studies. The U of Mass has requested permission to grow marijuana to study the effects of marijuana but is being blocked by the DEA even though several senators have directly contacted the DEA in support of more studies...meanwhile the govts position against legalization includes claims that not enough studies have been done. The DEA is the most corrupt, job security minded buracracy in govt today.

I don't know if that smoke in your lungs is good for you. But if cigarettes are legal why not regulate it like booze? Guess the next thing is to buy stock in fast food restaurants?

Let's no forget the National Institute of Medicine study commissioned by the US government a little while back that said that marijuana was NOT a gateway drug, that it was not truly addictive, and that it likely had medicinal properties. The government ignored the results to its own commissioned study.

If anyone remembers a discussion a year and a half ago wherein I offered up a little proposal concerning the legalization of cannabis, well, I've stream-lined that proposal. mntnman444 is aware of it as it stands and can vouch for what I have built. My problem is, I have no clue on posting it anywhere for ya'll to argue over and criticize. That I would truly like to do.

If any one out there has a way to post my little proposition, either on a page or in their blog and then place it here on Propeller for a good shredding, please, leave me a message. I will e-mail you my proposition if you have a means to make it public. I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to posting such.

BTW, this is known as "Proposition 420: the U.S. H.E.M.P. Act".

mntnman444 has read it and I'm hoping he can vouch for my sanity here. A few of you who were in that chat long ago might remember it.

contact me please if you can help

And it is excellent with alot of thoughtful hard work put into it.It deserves to be seen by as many as possible...what we need is someone with a website that can be linked on Propeller.

"It's good for you."

However, there is the unfortunate corollary that prison time is not good for you.

Legalize it. Tax it. Raise revenues. Cut enforcement and incarceration costs. Pump more workers back into the economy. Help us pay off our ballooning national debt.

I agree. Tax it then smoke it!

I knew if there was any chance of electing a Democrat to the oval office they woiuld start this legalizing pot business. Some of the posters on this site are familar. Now I can look at their messages with a new understanding of where they are coming from, and why.
