For the former U.S. marine Michael Elliott the psychological impact of war is his latest and most challenging battle. Experts say up to 30% of returning soldiers will require psychiatric help: a number not seen since the end of the Vietnam War.

    You're a cog in a machine, when you go to war. A big, ruthless machine that moves you, with or without your will involved. Events are beyond your control, so you participate and deal with the consequences.

    God bless these Iraqi War veterans. May we, the American people, provide some normalcy in their lives, after exposing them to this carnage.
